Reasonable Belief

Reasonable Belief is an eight-session course of study in Christian apologetics in Fall 2026 for students who want to:

  • Be more grounded and confident in their faith.

  • Defend and communicate their faith in a winsome and compelling way.

  • Sessions take place on Thursdays at 4:00 pm at the Michigan Christian Study Center

  • Overview: This session will describe what apologetics is as well as discuss the nature of truth. It will be shown that truth exists and can be known, including the truth of God’s existence and His revelation to us.

  • IteOverview: This session will examine the evidence that we have for recognizing God’s existence by way of discussing the Cosmological Argument (all that begins to exist has a cause) as well as the Teleological Argument (we see the hand of design in the universe).

  • Overview: This session will examine the evidence that we have for recognizing God’s existence by way of the Moral Argument—that is, if there is a such thing as “right” and “wrong” and a moral law, there must be a moral Law Giver.

  • Overview: This session will argue that the Scripture we have is historically reliable and accurately records the physical life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It is God’s text and teaching to us regarding how we are to know Him and how we are to live with Him and others as He intends. It is the definitive revelation of God to us.

  • Overview: This session will continue the conversation from session #4 surrounding the person and work of Christ. Who did He say He was? What did He teach and why? Did He actually die and rise from the dead? What evidence do we have of this?

  • Overview: This session will equip us to engage with non-believers in a respectful, loving manner as we share Christ with them. It will be practical and give tools for asking good questions, understanding where others are coming from, and engaging them with the truth. It is not enough to give “just arguments.” We care about the individual as a person with an eternal soul made in God’s image.

  • Overview: This session will confront one of the greatest questions we all ask: “How can a good and powerful God allow evil and suffering?” It will discuss how Christians approach this question and how we can use it to show that God exists and that He walks through suffering with us (and ultimately ends all suffering and redeems both the universe and humanity).

  • Overview: The course culminates in a presentation and Q&A session with international recognized Christian apologist Abdu Murry, founder of Embrace the Truth ministry.
